Pratt Confirmed as Alaska Judge Confirmation of the nomination of Harry E. Pratt, veteran Fairbanks attorney, as dictrict judge for the Fourth Division, district of Alaska, was announced yesterday in International News dispatches from Washington, D. C. Judge Pratt, who has been practicing law in Fairbanks for more than a quarter of a century, has been identified with Alaska since boyhood, his father, also an attorney, having gone to Skagway in the original rush in '97. He succeeds Judge E. Cokehill, a Republican hold-over, who recently resigned after eight years as presiding judge of the Third and Fourth Divisions. The new judge has many friends in Seattle. Tohmas R. Lyons, formerly on the bench in Alaska and now practicing law in this city, recalled yesterday that Judge Pratt tried one of his first cases before him in about 1909.
