Washed up on the beach three miles north of here about two months ago, the whale was visited by large numbers of people but none could identify it. Eskimos have been cutting parts of it off for dog feed. A better specimen, however, was washed up on the beach a few days ago and it was definitely identified as a killer whale, of the variety frequently killed near the Diomede Islands.
