WILKINS PARTY AND PLANE SAFE FAIRBANKS, Alaska, -Sept. 20 (/P)—Sir George Hubert Wilkin, unreported for several hours after landing in the big flying boat at a lake near Aklavik, was asleep and not missing, soviet flight representatives here were informed late Alarm was first felt for the noted today. Alarm was first felt for the noted explorer in the 17-ton flying ship when the Wilkins radio faded out as he attempted to make a landing at a lake near the Mackenzie river delta. But radio, advices received here from Aklavik late today said: "Wilkins was landing and his signals cut. He didn't go on the air again from late afternoon yesterday until noon today. He is in the delta somewhere. He doesn't know his position but thinks he can find Aklavik as soon as the weather clears. Aklavik is in communication with him all the time now. "Wilkins party and plane all O. K. They went to bed last night as soon as the plane landed and missed all their afternoon broadcast schedules. They didn't wake up until noon today." Weather in the Aklavik area was reported poor today.
