ABOARD MONOPLANE DEROITER, En Route to Point Barrow, May 8.— (By Radio to Fairbanks) 11:15 A. M. —We successfully crossed the Endicott mountains at It o'clock, flying high. The plane Is now passing over the flat snow-covered tundra and the visibility is such that we can see almost to Barrow. The plane is functioning perfectly and we are making fast time. We have traveled more than 300 miles since hopping oft at Fairbanks. Ahead and to right and left of us is the white wilderness and back of us the mlst-covered mountain barrier.
