FAIL TO FIND LOST FLIERS BARROW, Alaska (7P) ^-Scouring the top of the world without finding trace of the 11-day missing soviet transpolar plane, Sir Hubert Wilkins returned to Coppermine, N. W. T., base today in a Russian-owned 17-ton flying boat. Wilkins left Coppermine at 1 a. m., Pacific standard time, kept close to the 148th meridian do which the lost soviet plane was supposed to have followed, sped over the north pole and continued as far as the 78th parallel before bad weather forced him back, he advised the soviet embassy in Washington, D.
