Hunt for Missing Plane Extended Three More Flyers Soaring Over Yukon FAIRBANKS, Alaska, Aug. 22.— Carrying first aid and emergency rations in ten-gallon cans attached to parachutes, three additional planes left here today to join in the desperate search for Arthur F. Hines, missing pilot, and three passengers he carried in his plane. The plane has not been seen since it left here for Dawson Monday carrying Hines, Alton, Nordale, John F. Lonzo and his wife. Unconfirmed rumors that the lost plane had been sighted over Chicken Creek in Yukon Valley, turned the eight searching planes in that direction today. Flying ten miles apart, the eight planes have been covering sectional regions of the Tanana and Yukon River Mountain area. Mrs. Nordale, who with her two children last night flew with Pilot Joe Barrows on an extensive search between Juneau and Fairbanks, remained calm as hope for the lost pilot and his passengers dwindled hourly. "I am sure my husband and the others are safe. They'll be found," she said. In New York, G. T. Tripp, president of Pan-American Airways, Inc., today ordered all available facilities thrown into the hunt. He announced that the Electra, the plane which brought out the bodies of Wiley Post and Will Rogers, will be used in the search, Universal Service stated.
