FAIRBANKS, Alaska, Aug. 18 UP)—Murky cloud banks and rain lay over northern Alaska again today, handicapping the search for the Russian flyers and further work on a promising "clew" reported by Eskimos on the arctic Pilot Bob Randall, Canadian airman, who landed at Barrow, northernmost Alaska outpost, with the word that natives at Barter island had heard what might have been the motors of an airplane "four or five days ago," expected to take off again today from Barrow, backtracking his flight eastward.
