Russia Obtains Big Flying Boat. RUSSIA OBTAINS BIG FLYING BOAT WASHINGTON, Aug. 18. (/P)~ Vilhjalmur Stefansson, president of the Explorers' club, New York, said today a large flying boat obtained by the soviet embassy here probably would take off from North Beach airport, N. Y., tomorrow in quest of the lost soviet transpolar flyers. Eskimos Have Clew. FAIRBANKS, Alaska, Aug. 18. UP)—Eskimos who for centuries have gathered at remote Barter island on the northern Alaska coast to trade among themselves brought the first clew today to the possible whereabouts of the missing soviet transpolar flyers. Dropping out of the murky clouds in the arctic ocean fastnesses late yesterday, Bob Randall, Canadian airman flying a" ship chartered for the search by the soviet embassy in Washington, D. C, learned from a group of parka-clad natives they had heard what might have been a plane's "" four or five days ago."
