PLANES TO SEEK LOST ALASKAN Airplanes were awaiting favorable flying weather today before taking off from Cordova, Alaska, to search for Andrew Erickson, 65-year-old Seattle man and a night watchman of the Nellie Juan cannery on Prince William Sound, who has been missing since December 28, when he started out in his thirty-foot gasoline launch from Latouche, east of Seward. Edward B. Hanley of Seattle, president of the Copper River Packing Company, which employed Erickson, said he has ordered that planes fly over Prince William Sound in attempts to find Erickson. The United States Coast Guard abandoned search yesterday after covering the area near Evans Island, where Erickson last was Erickson lives at 6803 Aurora Ave.
