FOG HALTS HUNT FOR LOST PLANE FAIRBANKS, Alaska, Nov. 6.—(U.P)—Heavy fog over the snowbound wastes of the Arctic region between here and Dawson, Y. T., today forced a halt in the aerial search for a missing air transport plane and six passengers. The fog bank crept across the region while rescue ships droned in a dozen directions, seeking some trace of the air liner which disappeared Saturday on a flight from Dawson to Fairbanks. Those aboard the craft when it took off were Pilot Jack Herman of San Francisco, Peter Funk, Oscar Adams, O. Ogren, George Townsend and W. James. The rescue squadron, headed by Victor Ross, head of the Northern Air Transport company whose ship Herman was flying, took off at dawn yesterday. One by one the ships returned here, forced back without a clue to the plane's whereabouts. Text Arctic Alaska Washington State University: WSU Libraries Digital Collections Arctic Fairbanks Pacific
