RESCUED FLYER IS DYING Russell Merrill. Formerly of Portland, Is Very Low. SEWARD, Alaska June 26 It was reported here, today that Russell H. Merrill, pilot who was lost for nine days without food when two plans were forced down between the Endicott mountains and Point Barrow from an isolated lake in the interior uopn whose ice his plane had landed, was discovered groping his way through the snow, suffering from snow blindness, exposure and lack of food.
