Cemetery On Sea Road To Be Moved. Cemetery On Sea Road To Be Moved A cemetery, containing the graves of 18 members of the Theodore Pointer family, will be moved by the state highway commission and WPA from the right of way of the Wolf Creek highway, a short distance west of Sylvan, to make room for construction of a viaduct there. The 18 graves will be moved to a site in the new West Mills Memorial Park cemetery, according to J. E. Windle, manager of the cemetery. The old cemetery is located on the original Pointer donation land claim. The new West Wills Memorial park is also on the site of the Pointer claim. Construction work on the Wolf Creek road calls for a viaduct under which traffic will pass going to and from Beaverton. The west end of the viaduct will touch the point where the 18 Pointer relatives are buried. Last week a court order was issued in Washington county for removal of the bodies. The first of the Pointers, a baby born to Theodore and Silvia Pointer, was buried in the plot in 1876. The last burial was in 1932 when Adelia C. Stitt, a niece, was buried there. Windle said he has been working on the removal order for many months. His company purchased the site of the West Hills Memorial park from the Pointer heirs, nine of whom are living. Windle said the work will be started this week. The Pointer claim title was signed by President Grant.
