Moral Obligation Payments Slated For Washington Farmers in 20 Washington counties by January 1 will have received $1,750,000 from the federal government for the 1936 "moral obligation" payment under the former wheat adjustment program of the AAA, announces A. M. Camp, commodities representative, extension service, Washington State college. This will be the final payments under the commodity control programs. More than 7000 farmers will receive payments. When all payments are made on the 1936 contracts, the totals received by farmers in the state on the AAA wheat programs will amount to $18,000,000. The first program started in 1933. Counties involved include: Adams, Asotin, Clark, Columbia, Douglas, Ferry, Franklin, Garfield, Grant, Island, Klickitat, Lewis, Spokane, Walla Walla, Yakima, Benton, Okanogan, Stevens, Lincoln and Whitman.
