Aurora Borealis Piles Up Current. Aurora Borealis Piles Up Current. A brilliant aurora borealis display in the arctic caused new trouble to wireless communication systems today. Local telegraph companies, reported service interrupted Sunday afternoon, and at noon today said excess current continued to pile up on lines and interrupt circuits. The United States signal corps' Alaska communications system reported to .the Associated Press at Seattle that the northern lights display had disrupted short-wave wireless connections with all but Ketchikan since 11 a.m. Sunday. The lights were witnessed from 6 p.m. until dawn.
