Day, Alaska freighter, is shown just after he landed on the Spokane river yesterday in his 90- horse power seaplane after a 22- hour flight from his headquarters, Iditarod, Alaska, on the edge of the Arctic circle. Ten days elapsed on the trip as he flew five days and was stormbound five days in Cordova, Alaska, where the wind blew so hard houses were demolished, he said. To Spokane the trip is almost as far east as south. He operates a fleet of steamers and barges 1600 miles on the Yukon river and tributaries during the open season and spends his winters with his wife and mother, Mrs. A. D. Bosworth.
