Fisherman Find Plenty Of Fish: Big Catches Reported From Streams And Lakes Over Week-End. Sunday was a red letter day in the lives of many local anglers and most of them returned with limit catches from both stream and lake, Not only were there many fish, but they were also large ones. B. M. Dahlen topped the list of those getting the big ones when he returned from Sherman creek with a 34 1/4 inch steelhead weighing 9 1/4 pounds. The fish was on view at John T. Little's. In with the steelhead were two bass, one weighing 6 1/2 pounds and the other 5 1/2, taken from Benewah lake by Ross Davis, who used waterdogs. Catch Trout Limit. Frank K. Leigh and Dr. Tolbert Schimke both caught the limit of cutthroat trout at Hudson bay, Pend Oreille lake, using flies and spoons. They reported the fishing good. A 5 1/2 pound bass, taken at Liberty lake by Eldon Miller, two mackinaw trout hooked at Deer lake by J. Moran and limit bags of eastern brook and rainbow trout from Twin lakes, Ferry county, caught by Mr. and Mrs George Howard, made up the exhibit at the Spokane Cycle and Toy company. John Bronson landed 10 nice cutthroat trout at Pend Oreille lake and Robert Moss came back from Lower Coffee Pot lake with 12 large perch. Both catches were shown, at Jensen Byrd's. Catch Big Mackinaw. Dr. and Mrs. Von Nahmen reported a large catch of cutthroat trout taker at Priest lake, Idaho, at Ware, Cochran & Coultas, as did Dr. George I Hoffman, Charles A. Graham, Herb Butler, J. A. Graham, Earl Foster, Dr. Waldo Renn and Dr. Chipman. Mel Staples went to Deer lake and hooked a fine bag of mackinaw trout. Phil Lowry hooked and landed six large cutthroat trout at Priest lake, according to members of his party. Anglers at Bead lake also had a big day, according to Flala's sports goods store, where Glade Stanley and wife reported catching an 18-pound mackinaw trout.
