SAVE 320 IN ROARING SEAS Resellers Take 380 Chinese and 40 Americans From Ship. SEATTLE, May 23. —While a thundering surf pounded her to pieces on the rocks near Unimak pass in the Bering sea, 280 Chinese and 40 Americans were taken off the windjammer Star of Falkland late today by the cost guard cutters Haida and Unalga, the lighthouse tender Cedar and the steamship Arctic, advices received here by Captain John G. Berry of the coast guard indicated. Owned by the Alaska Packers' association, the Star of Falkland sailed from San Francisco April 25 for Naknek on Bristol bay. The Chinese and some of the whites were to work in the cannery there. She went on the rocks shortly after midnight today. Other Alaska advices say seven Chinese, panic stricken, committed suicide.
