Summary:W.S.C. Varsity Wins Grid Game: Defeats Super Varsity 13 To 0 In Spring Training Game- To Meet Alumni. W.S.C. Varsity Wins Grid Game: Defeats Super Varsity 13 To 0 In Spring Training Game- To Meet Alumni. WASHINGTON STATE COLLEGE, PULLMAN, May 7.—Two touchdowns by Joe Koenigr, Eskimo halfback, and a converted try for point, gave the Cougar varsity team a 13 to 0 victory over the super varsity here today in a game which was staged by Coach Babe Hollingbery as a feature campus day. It was the first game of the spring football season. Hard hitting and blocking that could be heard in the highest part of the grand stands with live tackling made the game interesting from start to finish. Team work in the line was a revelation, while the spirit and dash of the 50 players who participated was anything but that of a spring practice game. Coach Hollingbery indicated he was not pleased by the team work but admitted that the men looked good and would round into good shape for the game next week with the alumni. Hein, Rohwer, Gustafson,Koenig and Crosswaite were the back field luminaries, while Wilson, Chester and Graham looked good in the line.
