PROJECTS Supplementary Allotments Announced on Building Program in Washington, Alaska WASHINGTON, Sept. 18.—(AP)— The treasury department disclosed today an additional $2,906,000 earmarked for federal buildings in Utah, the three Pacific Northwest states and Alaska will bring to $4,464,715 the total cost of a 1934-40 construction program in those areas. The new allotments were for projects to be paid for out of a seventy million-dollar appropriation made by the last congress. The program will supplement construction provided under congressional appropriations of sixty-five million dollars in 1934; sixty million dollars in 1935, and sixty million dollars in 1936. Allotments from the newly appropriated money included these amounts for Washington and Alaska: Washington—Seattle, for remodeling of the postoffice and courthouse, $400,000; Sedro Woolley, for postoffice building, $75,00; Camas, for postoffice building, $80,000; Yakima, for extension and remodeling of the federal building, $250,000; Spokane, for the purchase of additional land and the remodeling and extension of the federal building, $700,000; Kent, for postoffice building, $81,000. Alaska—Anchorage, new federal building, $825,000. BUILDING PROJECTS Allotments to Washington and Alaska under appropriations of the three previous years were for the following projects, many of which have been completed, while others are under construction or are expected to be started when preliminary work is finished: Washington—For border stations at Blaine, Danville and Ferry, $10,000, $20,000 and $21,000, respectively; for a coast guard air station at Port Angeles, $118,000; and the following sums for post offices: Kelso, $85,000; Mt. Vernon, $75,000; Prosser, $60,000; Puyallup, $70,000; Bremerton, $121,000; Centralia, $91,000; Anacortes, $88,000; University of Washington, $137,800; Sunnyside, $126,700; Wenatchee, $275,000; Toppenish, $72,000; Shelton, $80,000; Snohomish, $70,000. Oregon-Washington — For coast guard air station at an undesignated site, $78,000. Alaska-For federal building at Ketchikan, $458,687.
