Description
Summary:Compass Delays Russians' Flight. Compass Delays Russians' Flight LOS ANGELES, Aug. 3. (U.P.) —Mechanics tinkered today with a balky radio compass that forced postponement last night of the proposed 15,000 mile flight from Los Angeles to Moscow by Sig- mund Levanevsky, soviet air hero, and his co-pilot, Victor I. Levchencho. The Russian fliers said they hoped to start their pontoon- equipped plane northward tomorrow. Final motor adjustments will be made late today. The fliers have been preparing for the flight here for two weeks. They expect to make a leisurely trip to Russia. Stops include Alameda, Seattle, Nome, Fairbanks, and then across the Bering sea for northern Siberia.
