description County Orators In Duels Today. COUNTY ORATORS IN DUELS TODAY Thirty-six Districts Are Represented in Contests in Spokane. Representatives from 36 Spokane county grade school districts are in the city today to compete in the county declamatory contest, which began at 10 o'clock this morning at the Y. M. C. A. There are 35 active contestants and 28 substitutes. The competitions, one for grades three, four and five and one for grades six to eight, are in charge of Mrs. Craig Curran, deputy county superintendent of schools. Mrs. Curran is conducting the upper grade contest and Mrs. J. R. Wiedeman, from the county superintendent's office in the courthouse, is handling the lower grades. The Speakers. The school districts represented in the primary contest, with their contestants and selections, are: Mica Peak Consolidated - Eona Stratton; substitute, Elaine Roestal, Glenora. Elk-Dorothy Johnson; substitute, Violet Kuester, Milan. Burroughs- Charlotte Mason; substitute, Geraldine Osborne, Eloika. Midway-Charles Parker, Whitworth-Pauline Ednabeth Miller, Opportunity-Billie Grove, Mica-Irene Knipfel; substitute, Mary Flynn, Valleyford, Vera-Wesley Waybright. Coulee- Marian Carstens; Substitute, Doris Hoffman, Deep Creek, Warsaw-Mintoford Blair; Substitute, Della Bost, Nine Mile Falls. Hayford-Billie Alexander; Substitute, Thomas Fuller, Moran. Tucker prairie-Burton Lehn; Substitute, Liberty Hanson, Tucker Prairie, green Mound- Mabel Hattenbury substitute, Peggy Laughlin, Green Mound. Trent-Charles Coffman; Substitute, Katherine Serakanoff, Trent. Judges for this contest are Miss Dorothy Coulter, Libby junior high; Miss Jeannette Maltby, North Central high school, and James A.
