PIONEER ASSOCIATION MAY MARK OLD SITES Sites that the historic markers' committee of the Spokane County Pioneers' association would mark are: Four Lakes, Indian battle ground; the Waverly traces of early military road; hangman's tree near Fairfield; and the spot where Colonel George Wright Signed a treaty with the. Indians near Fairfield; the Indian ponies' massacre site near Spokane bridge; the old ferry site near the Hutton settlement, and the site of the Hudson Bay company's trading post east of Millwood. The Spokane County Pioneer society will visit granges in an attempt to secure the aid of members.
