Brother On Way To Pole: Lacrosse Woman Hears From Relative With Wilkins. BROTHER ON WAY TO POLE Lacrossee Woman Hears From Relative With Wilkins. LACROSSE, Wash., Nov. 22.—Mrs. Walter Hooper, whose brother, Orville Porter, is with the Wilkins South Pole expedition, has received word that he reached Montevideo November 18 and expects to wait there until November 30 for a ship to take him to Deception island. The Ladies' Reading club with Mrs. Mark Camp Thursday, with 40 members present. Mrs. Russell gave a Thanksgiving story, Mrs. Watzke played a piano solo, Mrs. W. Bumgarner sang and Mrs. Charles Bener gave a reading. The hostess served refreshments. The Rebekah lodge has elected as follows: Noble grand, Mrs. Delmas Hardy; vice grand, Mrs. Ruby Wilson; secretary, Mrs. Daisy Bumgarner; treasurer, Mrs. Cora Hardy; trustee, Mrs. Minnie Fronek. Evangelistic meetings will be held at the Selbu Lutheran church, commencing Sunday.
