The storm, which lasted four days and did damage estimated at $160,000. produced huge waves that disturbed gold sands on the beach. Miners anticipated a prosperous summer because of new fields. Damage to the jetty and roadstead was estimated at $80,000; to the Lincoln hotel, $20,000; to the Northern Power and Light plant, warehouse and oil tank, $15,000: to the Lomen commercial dock, $10,- 000, and to other buildings and establishments, $35,000. The storm subsided early Thursday. Today natives were busy salvaging timbers and lumber for their winter fuel supply.
