The girl "treasure seekers" of the Far North are from Boston, New York and Hartford, with others from Texas, Arizona and Oklahoma and western states. I On her first day out, each girl was given a treasure chest which will be filled, day by day with specimens of Alaskan treasure. On mining day it will be pieces of high-grade gold quartz and copper nuggets, on totem day an ivory totem pole, and on fishing day it will be a can of salmon from the cannery visited at the time. A fur company will present them with tiny samples of seal, otter, polar Each gift will follow lessons on the subject. An educated Indian will tell them all about totems. Thejr Northwest Camp Fire Hosts, the Lakota group, the first one ever formed in Seattle, prepared scrap- books for their treasure hunting quests. One was "Harvest of the Sea" and the other, "The Midnight Sun at Work." They have cut out hundreds of pictures showing the vegetables, fruits and flowers grown in the North and all manner of transportation from dog teams to air-planes.
