Summary:"Phantom" Ship Is Found Fast in Ice "Phantom"-Ship Is Found Fast in Ice NOME, Alaska, Sept. 14.—(U.E) —The British motorship Bay- chimo, "phantom ship of the north," is intact and is imbedded in solid ice seven miles off Wain- wright, Alaska, Captain Peter Poison of the American motorship Trader of Nome said today. Captain Poison said the Trader worked, its way through a field of ice into open water August 11 and came within a half mile of the Baychimo, which has drifted aimlessly, without captain or crew, in Arctic water since September, 1931.
