Alaskna Teachers Visit parents in Richland Alaskan Teachers Visit Parents in Richland Mr. and Mrs. B- 0. Boettohe and daughter, Berna Joy, came last Friday to visit at the home of j Mr. Boetteher's parents, Mr. am! Mrs. W- F. Boettcher. They have b.'en in Kodiak, Alaska, for the past several years, Arriving at Seattle June 21, their first trip to the U. S- in 3 years, they spent a week visiting Mrs. Boetteher's mother and family, Mrs. W.J. Scott, a former resident of this district. Mr. and Mrs. Boettcher will leave Sunday for Taeoma, where they will attend summer school at the Pacific Lutheran college, preparatory to teaching in Tanana, Alaska, some five hundred miles farther north than Kodiak. The coldest temperature in Alaska was recorded at Tanana, that being 76 degrees below zero- Tanana i the Yukon. Both Mr. and Mrs. Boettcher will teach school at Tanana the coming year but they are not looking forward to the extreme cole with much pleasure, however, the residents of that country dress for the climate in fur garments. Mrs. Boettcher will be ren bered as Miss Georgina Scott, who lived here for several years witli her parents, Rev. and Mrs. Scott. Mr. Boettcher made his home with his parents here, receiving both his grade and high school education in the local schools. Both he and his wife taught in the local grade school before their marriage.
