Johnson Is New Superitendant ofKetchikan Schools Majority of New leacners Graduates of U. of W.—John E. Johnson Is New Superintendent of Ketchikan Schools. The teaching staff of the Ketchikan High -School for the present term is composed entirely of new teachers. Several new teachers have also been added to the grade staff. The members of the new High School faculty are John E. Johnson, our new superintendent. He graduated from the Whitewater Normal School at Whitewater, Wis. in 1914. From there he entered the University of Washington graduating with a B. A. degree in 1917. Later he took up post graduate work for a year. Mr. Johnson is a married ma« with two small children. He taught the last three years at Kalama, Wn. Miss Iola Quast our high school principal is from Seattle. She graduated from the University of Washington in '18 with with a "B. A." degree. Miss Quast taught for the last two years at Kent, Wn. She teaches all of the English classes and a History and Spanish class. Miss Mable Meyer our new Commercial teacher is a U. of W. graduate of '17 and holds a B. S. degree, Miss Meyer last taught at Naches, Wn. Besides her commercial work she teaches a Fre«ch class and an Ancient History class. Miss Etta Losee, who has charge of the Home Economics department holds a "B. A" degree fiom the State C&IIejye of Washington, from which, she graduated hi.MXS-. Hei home town is Seattle. John Rockwell, Jr., a graduate oi the Bellrngham Normal school has charge of the manual training department. With his manual training Mr. Rockwell teaches a bookkeeping class and a commercial law class. Miss Vera Watson, 5th grade teacher is an alumna of the Cheney Normal school, of Washington.
