But, he added, those natives adopting the white man's diet suffer toothaches and early decay. "Indians living in villages have much better teeth than those in towns and cities," he said. "Also, Indians in western Alaska have better teeth than those in southeastern Alaska, where almost all of them follow the whites' diet."
