MAY USE AIRCRAFT TO CARRY OUT ORE Alaska Mine Located in Bad Place — Roads Poor— Fly Out With Metal. J. M. Nelson of McCarty, Alaska, is in Spokane to contract for the purchase of one of the Harvey-Campbell aircraft if he finds it will do the work claimed for it. He proposes to use it to carry out molybdenite ore from his mine and to carry in supplies. The machine is the flexible dirigible type of flyer. "This is just what. I want," said Mr. Nelson, "if it has the carrying capacity claimed for it at anything like the cost suggested. Before agreeing to take one, 1 shall probably return in the spring and eee the thing fly, or I will send my partner. "Our property is 50 miles from McCarty, situated at the head of a glacier, where it is difficult to get in and out. Such a means of travel would be useful all the year, but in winter it would be especiallyy valuable. The Spokane manufacturers say it will be able to carry a ton and make the trip of 50 miles in a little more than an hour, at about the cost of running an automobile. "Molybdenite is worth about $1.60 a pound. We have a ledge about eight feet wide, with 12 inches of pure ore. Oru claim is called the Giant."
