Taking into account the effect of global warming on ocean temperature distribution and currents contributed to a large extent to clarify the problem. The next step was obviously to include the effect of global warming on the atmospheric circulation. We would like to illustrate this point by briefly discussing the so-called North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO).
