The Greater Mysteries is an Epoptaic Initiation, or Mystery reserved for those that have undergone the Lesser Mysteries. It was the custom for those attending for their first year to not be allowed to participate in the Greater Mysteries. In their second year of attending they were considered Epoptai, and given a red ribbon which would allow them to participate in the Greater Mysteries. This part of the ritual drama explored the deeper psychological and religious themes of the mythology. This drama script was used for two consecutive festivals (26th (2011) and 27th (2012)).
