Filed in: UW - Buildings - Parrington Built in 1902, Parrington Hall is one of the oldest buildings on the University of Washington’s campus. It was originally the Science Building, but was later remodeled to serve the English Department. It has been home to the Evans School of Public Policy & Governance since the 1980’s. The name Parrington is meant to honor Vernon L. Parrington, a long serving member of the English Department who won the Pulitzer Prize in 1928 (University of Washington: An Architectural Tour, 2001).
