Summary:Caption on postcard: M.S. Northland Filed in Ships - N Launched as the W.B. Foshay, the MS Northland was completed in 1930 for the Northland Transportation Co. for Alaska service. She saw her crew engage in multiple strikes in her lifetime. In 1941, she was chartered by the US Army and was sold to the Nordenfeldsk Steamship Co. of Norway five years later. Northland's fate came in 1956 when she suffered damages after being stranded on the coast of Iceland, resulting in her being sold for scrapping.
