They capture the panoramic vistas of the quad during the spring and neo-gothic buildings as well as the intricate details that accent the overall regality of the university, such as the globes in the Suzzallo Reading Room. From 1962 until 1998, Loyd Heath was a faculty member at the business school at the University of Washington until he retired as a Professor Emeritus in Accounting. Photography, initially a hobby, turned into a professional venture as Heath began photographing a number of views around the campus. The majority of his photographs were taken during his time as a professors. They have appeared in a number of University of Washington publications (including Norman Johnson’s The Fountain and the Mountain and the Alumni Association’s Columns Magazine) and were displayed in the annual photo show at Meany Hall for over 10 years. Other sites include the Totem Heritage Center in Ketchikan, Alaska, and Old World Wisconsin, an outdoor living history museum in Eagle, Wisconsin. A photographic guidebook featuring Loyd's photos (Old World Wisconsin - America's Heartland: a Guide to our Past) was published by the museum in 2003.
