Description
Summary:In this photo, marine mammal biologist C.J. Casson gives a fish to a harbor seal at the Seattle Aquarium. This is part of the training that the aquarium biologists were doing with the seals and sea otters to help them in the handling of the animals. They were being taught to climb onto land, eat out of the biologist's hand, respond to cues by going to certain locations, and eventually to allow a human to touch them. As of 2017, Mr. Casson is Director of Life Sciences at the Aquarium. Caption information derived from captions written by Post-Intelligencer staff and attached to the back of the photograph. 1 photographic print: b&w; 8 x 10 in.
