It was a major national event for the young but fast growing city, and celebrated the emerging development of the Pacific Northwest. The fairgrounds became the campus of the University of Washington. These “Exibitors’ Day Prize” tickets were handed out at the AYPE with every paid admission on September 18th, and entitled the ticket holder to a prize or gift at an exhibitor’s booth. The back of the card says, "for paintings of Yngvar Sonnichsen." Sonnichsen (1873- 1938) was a Norwegian born artist who came to Seattle in 1908. He won gold and silver medals for his paintings at the AYPE.
