This piece was made by Mrs. Addie V. Hoxie, who was born in Pennsylvania and came to Seattle around 1898. She worked at several department stores including the Bon Marché where she was employed in the Art Department. Mrs. Hoxie exhibited a silk thread work at the Chicago World's Fair in 1893, and devoted her life to teaching silk thread art in Chicago and Seattle.
