Archaeologists working on the dig that lies in the way of highway interchange. Artifacts date back to fur trade days of the Hudson's Bay Company and later the United States Army. Artifacts from the dig include china, bottles, dominoes, jewelry, cap and ball pistol, jews harps, thimbles, flowers. Early variety of petunias sprouted from the dirt that sprouted from dirt cleared from the Army Quartermaster house, dating to the 1830s-1850s. The house was contemporary with the General Grant house, part of Officer's Row just off the parade ground. Title of clip supplied by cataloger.
