Summary:This film opens on the Scandinavian docks introducing the main heroine Sonja and her romantic partner Allan. However, when attending a party Sonja's father, who is a whaling ship owner becomes angry with his daughter for dating Allan. Then Allan finds out that Sonja is also dating a sailor named Karl. Scared, Allan hids on a ship, but the captain finds him. He is allowed to work on the boat, but then the audience discovers it was a ruse by Sonja's father to have Allan leave. They depart of a whaling journey in the Arctic.
