Newens at left of center went to Nome 1900. Filed in Yukon Territory John O. Ellis was born in Iowa in 1853. In 1920 he was living in Fairbanks and owned a dry goods store. Isaiah Newens was born in Canada in 1849. Although he was reportedly in Nome in 1900, the 1900 U.S. Census shows him living in Seattle, which may have been the report of his wife, Lois.
