The steel fuel artery stretches 626 miles from the port of Haines to Fairbanks in central Alaska, with 280 miles crossing northwest Canada. The $40,000,000 pipeline, built by the American-Canadian contracting combine Williams Brothers-McLaughlin-Marwell, under supervision of the Alaska District Corps of Engineers, will be dedicated in October.
