PH Coll 782.11a (See also PH Coll 328.271) Roald Amundsen was the first man to sail through the Northwest Passage. Gjoa was the ship in which he accomplished this journey. The Lomen Brothers photo studio in Nome, Alaska was operated by the three Lomen brothers Carl, Ralph and Alfred. The three brothers were also active in Juneau and were important studio owners because of their collection of glass negatives from other Alaskan photographers.
