The only ones described at present are two species of Lagynodes Foster and three species of Conostigmus Dahlbom from the Upper Eocene amber of the Baltic [5 -7], and also the only Late Cretaceous (Campanian) species Lygoceras dubitatus Brues from amber in Canada [4]. The new species to be described below, Prolagynodes penniger and Conostigmus dolicharthrus, from the Upper Upper Cretaceous amber of the Taymyr, expand our knowledge of the taxonomic variety and distribution of the megaspilids in Late Cretaceous time. Both of these species have already been mentioned in the literature : P. penniger as an unidentified member of the Megaspilinae [2], and C. dolicharthrus as gen. aff. Dendrocerus [3].
