| Summary: | The study examined a number of countries whose Central Banks sharply increased discount rates from 2005 to 2020, including: Angola, Venezuela, Zambia, Iceland, and Uruguay. Based on data from international statistical databases, such as the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, annual economic reports, as well as the works of other authors, a sample of these countries was made, a dynamic series of interrelated indicators reflecting the overall economic situation was studied, and the main prerequisites and consequences of an increase in the discount rate in the countries under consideration were determined. В исследовании был рассмотрен ряд стран, Центральные Банки которых с 2005 по 2020 гг. резко повышали учетные ставки (discount rate), среди них: Ангола, Венесуэла, Замбия, Исландия, Уругвай. На основе данных международных статистических баз, таких как Международный Валютный Фонд и Всемирный Банк, ежегодных экономических отчетов, а также трудов других авторов, была сделана выборка данных стран, исследован динамический ряд взаимосвязанных показателей, отражающих общую экономическую ситуацию, определены основные предпосылки и последствия роста учетной ставки в рассматриваемых странах.
