But little can be said from this insignificant corner for yours truly and hi3 partner in crime were unable to see the game. So it is only what has been passed on to ug that can be printed. The game must.have been a real bang-up tilt which just about dhows who’s who as far as basketball in Magrath is concerned. The Seniors had a great deal of the play throughout the first half of the game and had a commanding lead by half time mark Coach Merkley proceeded to piny his subs, with the result that the M, H. s, drew one point ahead at. one stage in the game. Then the Seniors fought back untiringly and won by the narrow margin of 39-37. As a matter of fact we all do it, perhaps unconsciously. It is considered opinion that, if all the farmers of this Country trere sold out, fifty per cent would leave With nothing but their personal effects. Why? Hard Times? No. Keeping up with the Joneses. The standard of living has jumped so high we can’t pay for it. We o'ould still live well according to the old standards but we don’t do it because the neighbors don’t. Sober reflection should be enough to convince us that for all our vaunted higher standard of living, we are no more contented and 'certainly no happier than our fathers and grandfathers.
