PASSEY ELECTRIC ■ Hockey Decision Notice to all interested citizens of Magrath & surrounding area. No doubt, if you have anything to do with hockey in our town, you have heard we are choosing a name and a logo to go on our new jerseys (when the grant money comes in) to represent Magrath. Well, we have chosen them, but the outcome was not, in my opinion, given a fair chance. As usual the hierarchy made the final decision, the majority agreed with the name but not the logo. The executive disagree and said you couldn't mix and match the name and the logo and thus the decision was made. I would just like to express my disappointment & frustration with the process. The chosen name & logo could be construed as being racial & prejudicial as it was in the NHL, where it was taken to the courts and the streets. Heaven knows we have enough of that already. I trust the town will be alright with them & is ready to defend our name if and when it becomes necessary. Maybe it is Otting - decided by the Chiefs that we are to be know as such from now on. Any comments?? Phone your executive and express your views - pro or con. This includes players, coaches, parents and all concerned citizens. - Rod Ririe - 758-6785 - Margo Schneyder - 758-6709 - Dona Schneyder - 758-6579 - Sherry Godionton - 758-3188 - Shainee Harker - 758-3311 - Trevor Millward - 758-6585 - Wade Johnson - 758-6657.
