INDIAN WEATHER FORECAST: Late in Sept, an early winter was forecast by Stephen Fox Sr. Stephen is an Indian held in high •Bteen among the Blood Indian Tribe, We asked him to give his reasons which we wrote down at the time. He said there were many signs, but mentioned only two. The east and south east winds. Up until three weeks ago we have had one of the mildest winters we can remember. There are only one or two persons still living in Magrath older than yours truly, who came to Magrath in 1899. The early settlers spent much of their time predicting the weatherj gathering clouds; signs of the times; birds of omen; and on the Sabbath day ’’Warnings of things to come.” During oral time not one of the predictions of coming events, and there were many, ever came true. No man living can predict what will happen one hour from now.
