BASKETBALL Tho Magrath Rockets unfortunately, but not after a very impressive struggle, bowed out of the Southern Alberta Senior League Play-offs when they were defeated by Bob Lindsay’s 77’s of Lethbridge, —63-50. Jim Matkin was high man in the first game which took place Saturday evening in Magrath. Monday evening the 77* s won by a very close margin, 69-67. Wes Rice garnered 23 points in a losing erase, while Tyler Alst ton and Jim Matkin were next in line with 14 and 13 respectively. Magrath trailed for a good portion of the game, but turned on all their heat in the last frame, but was not quite good enough as the two-point margin indicates. Wednesday evening in the new gym, the Magrath ”B” Coys defeated the Jefferson "B" team, 2I>49. This win entitles the Magrath ”B” team to enter the final playoff to be held at Lethbridge Friday night. This is a tournament of many teams from the district. Among the Magrath curlers who participated in the Farmer’s Bonspiel this week in Lethbridge were: Harry Hillmer, Ernest Hillmer, Marvin Hillmer and Lawrence Hillmer; Louis Triscli, Lester Hillmer, Vic Gruninger, Mike Gruninger; Ralph Arndt, Dud Wocknitz, Willie Wocknitz, Jack Hocking and Kenneth Balderson.
