Opening ceremonies will be held at the Golf Course and anyone interested would be welcome to attend. The course hhs been expanded to 18 holes mainly through the efforts of Mr. Lawrence Ehlert and club members. Local dignitaries and provincial ’recreation people will be in attendance. The ceremony will be quite at 12 noon. Afterwards the special guests will sit down to a luncheon at the clubhouse and then participate in some golf. The tournament is divided into two brackets. The championship bracket is open to anyone wishing to compete. This will be 27 holes of medal play. The other bracket will be divided into flights of eight according to handicaps. This is for match play. Entry fee for the tournament is $20 per person which will be used en­tirely for prize money. Saturday, June 2, 1979 was the day chosen by Shauna Rae Harrison and Roger Dale Davies to be married. The bride is the daughter of Merlin and Jolayne Harrison and the groom is the son of Elizabeth Davies. The marr­iage took place in the Alberta Temple, Cardston, with Bro. Lorenzo Davies officiating. A family dinner followed at the Cobblestone Restau­rant in Cardston. A program was enjoyed by all. Jack Humphreys, uncle of the bride, gave the tribute to the bride and the groom responded. A reception was held in the Magrath Assembly Hall Saturday evening. Jerilynn Prince, sister of the bride, was Matron of Honor with bridesmaids Krisann Harrison, DeNae Harker, Laurel Davies and Leanne Best Man was Duane Thomson with groomsmen Davies, Lance Harker and Dave Hall. Cora Crawford sat at the guest book table Collean Lybbert and Leslie Bullock received gifts. Greeting the guests as they arrived were Myra and Jack Jumphreys and Robert and Maureen Rasmussen. Carol Lowry and Marie Stevenson were in charge of the kitchen with a number of ladies assisting. Ann Pilling supervised the tables with Mia Maids and Laurels serving. Norma Pilling served the cake. The hall was beautifully decorated for the occasion in colors of yellow, green and white. The happy couple will make their home in Magrath for the summer months. Davies. Under the baton of Band Master Boyd Hunter, the Junior High Band performed followed by the Senior High Band s rendition of some favorite Marches. Solo performances were included in the Pop Band numbers with "Highlights of Exodus" Si« Roger! ' Vict°^ at Sea" included a trumpet solo by Cam Cook and a oiano solo by Heidi Engen. The Band also played "Tuentiana - Songs of the 20’s" bv Ades and "Parade of the Charioteers" by Rotsa fro« "Ber. Hur". Following the Bands’ performances, Mr. Hunter presented special awards to students Monte Kunimoto, Cam Cook, John Ratke, Tom Dudley, Diane Karren, Mark Harker, Lana Cook: to rum Majors Brad Karren and Brad Sabey; to outstanding bandsman Logan Atwood and to Kim Stanford as most improved student. This was the final concert under the direction of Band Master Hunter and President Dorothy Engen, in her address to the assembly, told how students, parents and the Associa­tion appreciated all thé" work Mr. Hunter had done with the Band in the eleven years he had been conducting - since it's beginning. Eden Engen presented Mr. Hunter with a gift from the Junior Band. In a presentation from the Senior Band of a T Shirt enscribed "The Leader of the Band" and a set of cuff links, President of the Student Band Council, Diane Karren, said Mr. Hunter was the best Band Director they’d ever had. " In a touching reply Mr. Hunter told of the saddness he felt, especially when he realized it would be the last time he would be with the band in concert. Mr. and Mrs. Hunter were presented with a painting by Karen Heninger from the Band Parents Association presented by Mrs. Engen as well as a plaque with Clark Dainard making this presentation. ■ Mr. and Mrs. Hunter will be making their home at 1045 Cambridge Road, Kaysville Utah The Band Parents served a delicious lunch at the evening’s conclusion when pictures * were also taken of the Band and it's members.
